Would T4 springs fit? obviously heavier duty, might be worth looking at, you could cut them if too long.

Re: Smoke stench in the car
Would you allow a plumber to smoke in your house! No you wouldn't why should your car be different?
£100 for the Valet & repair should be enough, or as said above threaten with legal & bad mouthing around your local, he won't like that.

Re: Smoke stench in the car
Go back to the garage, tell them you are sensitive to the smoke odour, get them to valet the interior or else!!
They shouldn't be smoking in YOUR car, for it to smell that bad they must have took it home, dirty mingers!

Re: What size ?
I would go for 17"s I had 18's on mine & it sat too high even though i had 40 profile tyres, but would look good lowered
17's keep ride height normal & ride is still pretty comffortable unlike the 17's which wee a fair bit harder.

Re: cv boots with cone??
I've seen it where people soak in hot water, to make it more pliable, they look a lot cleaner & easier than knocking off the joint. I've hear spitting on it helps

Just get a Oil filter strap, I've got a nylon webbing one, & works fine, you can use the chain one just wrap a cloth round it.

Re: B6 as good or better than b5.5
The B6 is lower price while the A4/A6 hold their price, vw & audi used to be closely comparable, quality was very similar, but looking now, the B6 was built on a very tight budget, it does look now that vw have got their act together with the B7 platform.

Re: B6 as good or better than b5.5
I'm thinking of a change before the end of the year, Natural progression would point towards the B6 Passat 2.0 TDI. I've heard of injector, fuel & diesel pump failing & costing ££££'s, is this a common occurance or not? Any other problem areas with B6 & which is the best spec to hav...

Re: B6 as good or better than b5.5
Reading that thread really gives you food for thought, b5 platform sounds much better, i couldn't afford to spend that sort of money if the EPB failed, to date most of the things i have replaced on my car are (touch wood) wear & tear parts, things you expect to fail. i might just stick to what I...

Re: New Car for the Wife.
We've got a 57 plate Clubman, it's awesome, goes well, drives well & looks really good. As said above steer clear of pre facelift Mini as they have a lot of Gremlins, Power steering pumps fail Electrical faults etc etc.

I'm sticking the joms on the car on Sat, do you need to set the ride height with the bushes like you do on the fronts when lowering it?
