Pinch bult woes
I removed my sheared bolt with a torch - although it was a mates oxy torch - only took a few minutes to heat up and was out in seconds - id spent a day before that with a lump hammer. I was changing the whole suspension arm kit so I didn't worry about the rubber on the arms but I'm sure if you were ...

Share my pain! Snapped Timing Belt on AFN :(
I've seen damaged lifters like that after messed-up cambelt jobs, the mark and pray does not work on these engines... have to say that's what I did 40 odd k ago on this engine was mark and pray - although I also got it as damn close to the slot on the back as well. I could do with tracking down a l...

Oil I use is...

Re: Share my pain! Snapped Timing Belt on AFN :(
Will a AVG Head be compatible with an AFN? - They share the same head gasket think they are based on the 1z Engine base end result looks like its 5 bent valves, 4 cam followers dead (3 of which are completely destroyed - pics to follow) - Trying to find a price for a set of valves at the moment, try...

Re: Anyone a VW Parts Bod? Price please :)
It was on some german site cheaper than dealership. I'm sure someone will remember. Yeah - Kufatec is who your thinking of, but once you factor in shipping from germany its almost twice the price - 17.99€ for the cable and almost that much for the shipping is a little excessive imo, although a gr...

Re: Engine undertray insulation - ideas where to buy
Righto - no clearer then :p I'm putting one back on because my air con pipework looks bad, I mean really bad, they will need replacing at the condensor side so, this time I'm going to stick the tray on, I'd rather replace the tray than fork out degassing and regassing the aircon. I know they are not...

Engine undertray insulation - ideas where to buy
So I'm gonna get round to installing a new undertray this month, its been too long without one, maybe a couple of years :/ I can see you can get the trays themselves on ebay easily enough but non of them have the insulation for the TDI's - Anyone have any ideas if I can get my hands on some, part no...
