Can't pull down one of the rear seats all of sudden... The handle is just not releasing the seat.
I did manage to get it open using grips on the handle, but it's not resolved. Does anyone know if this is a common issue, and what the fix might be?

Re: Crankshaft Position Sensor - ouch
Just wanted to report that this was fixed after glow plugs were replaced along with loom and a new battery. Nightmare but got there in the end.

Re: Crankshaft Position Sensor - ouch
Thanks for the suggestion. Just came back to report that I went ahead with the garage work to replace crank sensor, clutch and dmf but the issue is stil there unfortunately. Has trouble starting when cold. I'm going to check wiring and also replace the glow plugs... They're a bit of a pain to get to...

Re: Crankshaft Position Sensor - ouch
One more thing. Just before i dropped the car off to the garage i read the codes again and i saw a glow plug number 2 circuit fault. I didn't really think much of it, and previously this was a crank shaft sensor fault 100% which does match the symptoms. Anyway was just thinking about this and had a ...

Re: Crankshaft Position Sensor - ouch
Yeah that's my thinking really. I was not planning on keeping the car any longer than about a year... But with second hand car prices at the moment it might make sense to have it for 2 maybe 3. Car should be good for 250k miles i hope. Had the oil pump balance shaft replaced when i got it and I don'...

Crankshaft Position Sensor - ouch
B6 (2008) BKP engine having trouble starting, code read crankshaft position sensor so I took it to the garage to have them replace it as they are a right pain to change. The garage have just called to say the bolt is 'rusted' and they cannot remove it so need to take the gearbox out......! They've a...

Cruise control exclamation mark
Retrofit cruise control and now have an exclamation mark where the speed should be. It comes on after a min or two of driving. Anyone know what the issue is? I fit a cable from pin 16 on the control module to 20 on the ecu and fit a second hand stalk. I'm thinking the stalk might be faulty bit not s...

Re: Yellow/orange steering light
Had the battery off overnight but that has made no difference. Also tried what you suggested gtijames but still the light stays on ... What could it be?

Yellow/orange steering light
Just enabled cruise control using a VCDS and straight after that had the battery negative terminal off for a while. Now once everything is back together i can see that the orange steering light on the dash will not go off, even after i tried calibrating (full left lock, full right lock, drive straig...

Re: VCDS Lite and an Ebay cable
Yes i did need to remove the steering wheel to fit cruise control. There are a few tutorials online. There's even a video for a Golf on youtube which is near enough identical to how it's done on the Passat.

VCDS Lite and an Ebay cable
I've just retrofit Cruise Control to my Passat 2008 TDI and I'm now looking to enable it on the ECU. Are the cheap ODB2 usb cables on ebay compatible with the B6? Can you use VCDS Lite with them? And finally are you able to enable Cruise Control with VCDS lite?
Many thanks

I've just removed the steering wheel to see and can confirm the cable for pin 16 is not there. Looks like I'll need to buy and fit a cable

Cruise Control Retrofit Cable
Hi all, I've been reading some of the posts on here/Google in relation to retrofitting CC into a B6 Passat and have seen suggestions that the CC cable is present on 'some' Passats while in others it isn't. I have a 2008 March TDI Sport (BKP) and I'm really hoping the cable is there to avoid having t...
