Re: EPC light ?

Check your brake lights, if it's not working check your bulbs. If all good, it'll be the brake light switch no doubt. I had it, bought a new switch, still didn't work, got me misses to check my brake bulbs and I only had the 3rd one, left and right had blown, replaced and error went :) So start with...

Re: Water ingres problem. This isn't right. Is it?

There can be a leak from the ECU side too, which causes wetness behind the driver.

VW must of employed some right nuggets to design the plenum chamber :ymapplause:

Re: Beep from dash

That's unusual.

Do passats have a speed set? You set it at xMPH and if you go over it warns you. My old A6 had it, and that beeped but I got a warning on the dash.

My Lupo, beeps but that's a flashing oil light, and get an indication on the dash

Re: no boost and poor brakes

I just had to change my brake servo because of the stupid design so £400 later and got my braking back. my plenum chamber was clear, but when I bought the car it was full, so guess after a few years and freezing conditions it eventually just failed. Do you have good brakes, then use them again and ...

Re: high pitched beep - no warning lights

How long have you had the car?

If it's new it could just be the warning over certain MPH (if it's fitted) I know my old A6 had it, but not sure if Passats do

Hmm, then that is strange.

Check your fuse, but usually it just wouldn't work, but no harm done

Re: Electric fan is on the entire time ignition is on

When you look at the car from the front, are you on about the fan on the right?

The left one should be on all the time, the other should only come on when you turn the A/C on

Re: Very hard brake pedal

^ vacuum chamber, is that inside the servo? The plenum chamber did have problem with water inside, but had the recall done in 2008 and it's a bit wet inside so imagine its clogged underneath the servo as I doubt VW actually cleared that bung hole. Been quoted around £429 for servo and fitting, whic...

Re: Very hard brake pedal

I bought a new one way valve which goes into the servo and VW has changed the design, and the only way to get it in is to have a slight bend in the pipe which is stupid! Hasn't fixed the issue though. Would a sticking caliper cause the brake servo to hiss, which I can hear from the inside by pedals ...

Very hard brake pedal

Coming home yesterday and my brake pedal is very hard, pumping the brakes doesn't really help much. I've got a 2.0 AZM engine, I had my plenum chamber cleared out years ago and still bone dry. If I pump the brakes, it's rock hard, then turn on the engine and I can feel the brake pedals depress, so g...

2002 AZM 2.0 - 16804 & 16555

Coming home yesterday and noticed my car was slightly lumpy in traffic.

Carried on then the orange engine light turned on, got home and scanned and comes up with 16804 and two 16555.

Is my cat dead, or other things I can try before I spend loads of cash :(

thanks

Re: Running temperature from Climate control

My temp gauge usually sits between 80 - 90, most people seem to say theirs sits at a steady 90. I've heard that I can put Climatronic into diagnostic mode and it will show the true running temp so I can check if gauge is reading low, but I can't figure out how to do it - can anyone help please? My mums is a 2002, same as mine, strange. Unfortunately when I bought the car it didn't come with a manual, but thanks for checking that out. I wonder if the bounce then is caused by a faulty/failing relay which is why it's clicking louder than normal (I'll get a video of the bounce later on) I'm gu...

1. My automatic wipers (rain sensor) is more like semi-automatic, if I put it into the automatic position it works, but if I stop the car then start again, it wont be automatic, I'll have to put it down to manual mode, then put it back into automatic mode again. My mum has the same car but if she le...

I've got a 2.0 AZM petrol engine. I was on my way to asda at the traffic lights and as I went to go, the engine spluttered almost like a kangaroo jump, then I booted it, and it was okay until about 5 miles down the road when I was in 5th and put my throttle down abit and it was spluttering again! an...

The next question is currently I have the Gamma + CD player, which will both be gone. So I put in my new headunit and purchase 3b0 857 058 (stowage compartment) I believe I a...
