Re: Coolant? Leak

Yeah hopefully, it's all got all sorts of leaks at the moment the poor oh fiddlesticks! :( the washer fluid bottle I believe must be slightly cracked as that's leaking too. I need to find some white shiney cardboard and leave it under the car over night and see whats what. For the flange bit with th...

Re: Coolant? Leak

When that coolant flange leaks, doesn't it leak on the drivers side more? If my hands weren't dirty I would of done a quick and technical lick of the substance to see what it is. The mrs did say it's been raining today so could be that thinking of it. For the amount it's dripping I would expect the ...

Coolant? Leak

Hey up, So my radiator is leaking a bit but I've discovered something which is leaking quicker, drip,1234,drip,1234,drip I've uploaded a picture and it's at the firewall area under by the coolant reservoir (ignore the drip coming from the overflow on the header tank, thats me not having a steady han...

Re: Fitted hids

As far as im aware they use exactly the same projector and plastic at the front. The xenon projector is where our indicators are though. Ideally you should make sure the up and down spindles work and the outer one (brings the light inwards and outwards) then drop into a garage and get them to align ...

EIS Radiators

Are they good enough for a year or two's work? Started the car this morning and saw stop coolant, I remember ages ago I saw some leaking by the radiator corners but forgot to to keep an eye on the level. So just after something cheap and cheerful and looks like I can get it for around £34 which is a...

Re: End of an era for our passats?

What makes me laugh, is they say diesels causing health issues and people dying because of it, so you'll have to pay more. Hang on, so if I and everyone else pays more, the same amount of people will die, pfft! One website says as much as £8500 we'd receive for scrapping a 10+ year old diesel, that ...

Re: End of an era for our passats?

There's talk of Southampton having a pretty much anti diesel area. Starting with buses, HGV's & taxi's but it'll soon be "oh as this has done so well, we'll pass it onto car drivers" then other towns are bound to follow suit :( They kept saying "oh euro 6 diesels are fine" bu...

Re: Fitted hids

Apart from the alignment looks normal to me.

Remember our left light is fatter due to the side we drive on, I bet if you adjusted to the lhd light position, the light output will change over to the other bulb

Re: high oil consumption

Look directly on top of turbo, is the metal case a browny rust colour? If its black and shiney it could be turbo oil feed pipe. Mine was as loose as a loose thing and I floored the car once and a day or two later someone had put down some dust over the massive oil line I left (assuming it was me!) S...

If your outside temp is showing minus numbers then this pretty much concludes your gray block will be fubar, as the outside temp cable ends up in the grey block too from what i remember

Re: Alarm and fan problems

Firstly search for grey connector block on here, take it apart and chances are the pins are corroded and thatll be why your alarms going off. Ideally you'd need vcds as you can see the alarm trigger source. Which 9 times out of 10 will be your bonnet open sensor. You can do a quick check, bonnet ope...

Re: Map sensor plug removal tool

Yeah thats it, i just want rid of the old connector, use the tool to push the terminals out, push into a new connector.

There seems to be different size tools but https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/322028748293 might be fine, only a tenner i suppose

Map sensor plug removal tool

Hey up, A while ago i snapped the connector on my map sensor so it could just come straight off but i put some cable ties around it to keep it in place. I'd like to buy a new plug and take the old one off, but i need a special tool for this. Anyone bought the same? There seems to be different sizes ...

Sunshades

Hello, I quite like the idea of window sunshades rather than tint, but does anyone know the best ones available for an estate? All the ones I've seen for estates have a 50/50 sunshade at the back rather than one big one, which I think would annoy me, so if anyone knows of good ones for an estate and...
