Re: front disc minimum thickness

I've not done the front personally only rears but the fronts are more involved as in you need to remove a spring and the calliper which is an extra bolt compared to the back.

Ive got a feeling its not m6 for sone reason, iirc the vw guy had about 5 different sizes about 5 years ago and neither fitted, but im going to pop round vw and audi tomorrow to...

The x5 recalls always made me laugh! Steering wheel may not operate, brake pedal may detach and air bag may randomly deploy!!

Hope you've had them all checked :o

Could be many different things, get it scanned and come back with the error code if there is one. A cheap u281 scanner is good but double check its for passats or download vcds onto a laptop and a lead on ebay. Things coming to mind could be boost leak, under boosting, over boosting, maf, map n75, c...

Re: MOT REFUSAL

It says it has 2 year warranty but wondering if it's just a nightmare to prove it's duff. Mine defo needs a new joint rather than boot, but looking at good quality and oem prices it's madness. Even if the j&r only lasted 1-2 years I could still buy another 2 from them before I get to oem prices:o
