Re: SNOOKER do you play?
I'm currently playing 4 hours per week and really enjoy it when things are going right but when I'm playing badly I feel like giving up, I shouldn't take it so seriously. Highest break is 36.

Re: What did you do to your Passat today?
Fitted a new Bosch rear wiper motor to my B5.5 wagon, easy job.
Took the engine cover off as I suspected a boost leak and sure enough there's a big split in the 90 deg pipe to the egr valve.

Re: Besters Wagon - Double Din Fitted!
After having modified the dash to take a double din set-up, I've finally managed to get hold of one and get it fitted this weekend. It's a Kenwood DNX5220 with optional Bluetooth module. I've modified the bottom right hand switch blank to take a USB drive. So far I'm very happy with it. For some rea...

Re: Bit of advice need regarding indicator stalk
Spray with WD40. This happened to me and was advised to do this by someone on here, worked perfectly. It's a general build up of gunk on the Copper contacts. Use the small tube attachment on the nozzle to get into the workings of the stalk.

GPS antenna location B5.5
I'll be installing a Kenwood dnx head unit this weekend but unsure where to best position the GPS antenna - behind dash, on top of dash, windscreen or on one of the rear side windows (estate)?
Also how does the A pillar trim come off for fitting the Bluetooth mic?
Thanks.

Nice find, I'll wait for them to restock.

PD130 AVF Clutch Kit?
It's time for a clutch and flywheel change on my PD130 AVF. Been browsing but not sure which brand of clutch kit is best or what prices I should be looking at. I would rather pay for a decent brand than a cheapie. Darkside are coming in at £429 for a full LUK kit posted. Does this sound about right...

Braided Brake Lines TDi 130
My last MOT advised renewing the front flexi brakes lines as the rubber was starting to deteriorate. I've no plans to sell the car any time soon so I've decided to fit braided lines on the front. Any recommendations as to where to buy these from?
Car is 2001 TDi PD130.
Thanks

Re: B5.5 AVF Turbo S Pipe - where from?
Here's a pic of the split pipe. The car was down on power quite a lot along with a loud whooshing sound coming in about 1800rpm. It was all very obvious that something was wrong, it was that bad. As for MPG I don't tend to monitor it these days, I just get in and drive the thing. I had to drive the ...

Re: B5.5 AVF Turbo S Pipe - where from?
Found time to fit this yesterday and I have bad news. The larger end of the pipe didn't want to push into the hard pipe running across the front of the car. I thought it needed a bit of a tap so out came the hammer and a suitable tool to hit the flange of the Ali end, ended up damaging the flange. A...

B5.5 AVF Turbo S Pipe - where from?
Hi all,
My boost pipe from the turbo to the front cross member pipe has a split in it, this is the 'S' shaped pipe. Can anyone recommend a good quality replacement? I think a genuine VW item is about £100 but seen them advertised on ebay from as little as £20.
Thanks

Re: Besters Wagon - Double Din Conversion
Decided to have a go at the double din conversion as I want to fit a new big screen system mainly for phone bluetooth, satnav and mp3's. So after reading the various guides on here I started cutting plastics out and finished up with this pile. http://i531.photobucket.com/albums/dd354/davesb/RX51WCC/...

Re: V68 temp control flap motor location/replacing
Got around to swapping the motor this morning while the weather was good.
Agree with the above comments about the tight space, I'm no spring Chicken anymore so came away with a bit of backache, took about an hour all in.
I was lucky to buy a brand new motor from ebay for about £25 posted.

Re: Losing coolant every few weeks
The drips from my leaking water pump can be seen on the bottom of the crank pulley but you need to remove the lower engine cover to see it. With the cover in place the fluid would drop on to the cover and make its way to the back of the engine and out onto the floor. So for a while this drew me to l...

Re: V68 temp control flap motor location/replacing
Hi, seems I have this problem. The heater is blowing hot and cold whenever it pleases and I can hear the flaps and motor constantly adjusting with the ignition on. So can someone confirm that this is the V68 motor playing up? I think it is.

Re: Losing coolant every few weeks
I replaced my water pump when the cam belt was changed. 6 months down the line the pump started leaking and I had to top up about the same amount and frequency. Replaced the pump with a Genuine VAG item, the original was from ECP.
