I did have damage in that area, same scenario, from a car park.
Just boiled my blood that someone has done it again and they would have felt and still driven off.
It shall be fixed, pics will come

Re: nothing special
Sits just nice that matey! Stereo should sound great with the new speakers %-( Can't help but think that the wheels would look nice anthracite or just a couple of shades darker than they are? Here's a photo shop of my old passat just to show what I mean http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh287/styl...

Re: nothing special
As gaz said , the hole in the door is a little larger than the speaker.
Also they also keep the speaker out of the way of the window mech when wound down.
And the factory speakers are an all-in-one moulded item .

Re: Chinese AC/Dc Tig welders from ebay- any good?
Avoid like the plague Like most modern welders they are electronic as opposed to electric, so the circuit boards on these are the weak link espescailly with only having a 35% duty cycle. Branded names are not that much more . But i will say sip arent as good as the once were. ok for a cheap use once...

This time to say a massive thank you to Griggsey, (im sure you have all seen his awesome car) So my rear shocks were getting a bit tired, well they have been on a few years and worked hard.. Looking around for new ones , it became apparent it would be just as cheap to buy new co...

Re: nothing special
So been making more parts again, nothing special as always. I'm sure a few of us b5/5.5 owners are use to this.. http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z330/dazzler74/build%20progress/IMG_20160202_124520770_zpscbbcfogx.jpg So came up with an idea. Re: nothing special- new hoops on
So I've been up to the tyre fitters, and had them all swapped. Unfortunately Found a nail embedded in the inner side wall on one wheel,. yep... more expense ffs. Oh , and upon opening the boxes I have discovered the centre caps have been forgotten, quick call and they are being sent as we speak So g...

Re: nothing special - New wheels??? how hard can that be.???
So if your reading this, you will know what I've had to spend in the last few months. And like most of us, family, bills, mortgage will always come first. But recently hit a deep pot hole and put a flat spot on a rim. Nothing major but its definitely there. What surprised me more was the wife saying ...

Re: nothing special- exhausted
So yet more expense... and unfortunately no photo's. Front flexi has been blowing a while, and whilst it sounded sporty i'm 40 not 14, and its been running a bit rough. So asked a few local centre's on prices, anywhere from 160 to 210 all in. But that was only if it came off easy with no studs snapp...

Re: Newbie B5.5 with some questions
Hi and welcome. Scroll down the page and look for the B5 B5.5 section, all your answers will be there. But in short, If you have no reciept for the cam belt, get it done for peace of mind. It also depends on who you speak too. Some say every 40k some 60 and some 80k . I know two vw techs and they st...

Re: Audi A6 roof rails
You can strip the coating on standard bars with paint stripper and polish them then buy the end caps from vw or tps. Bit of work but do able. A few on here have done that

Re: Audi A6 roof rails
You can make anything fit...
But i susspect your asking for an easy swap over.
in short no. the fixings are the other way around,
iirc the passat has studs that come out of the roof, the a6 has the nut in the roof if that makes sense
