Re: Has it been mapped???
The biggest difference i found with mine was put it 6th whilst doing about 70mph, then mine picked up much better and quicker after remap. Prior to map it would take a while to pick up.

Re: Radio reception terrible
Right ok understand what your saying will try and swap them round first.
I am still using a rcd300 with bluetooth xcarlink through the cd port, i cant see how this affects this radio reception.
So will try swapping the 2 ariels around.

Radio reception terrible
I have just fitted a xcarlink with blue tooth. Since fitting the radio reception is terrible. I have had the unit out since and double checked all plug and wiring and made sure all connections are ok, all fine.
Is there an amplifier or something i can fit?
Radio reception was ok prior to fitting.

Re: towbar
On a B6 they are 100% the same, i have a genuine vw one removed from a estate fitted to my saloon. However the rear valance which has the cover on is different (for a detachable tow bar).
If anyone has a saloon rear tow bar valance am in need of one.

Re: installing xcarlink
Yea thats my plan in the drivers coin tray. My thought is drill a hole in the back of the tray and feed the ipod wire through then secure the docking station in. Hopefully its not too deep so that i can close the draw when i take my phone out. The mic lead doesnt seem long enough to go from over the...

Re: installing xcarlink
Cheers for the reply mate, so you literally took out one of the the little screws that are part of radio and earthed through that?
Am looking at trying to mount a iphone docking station in one of me draws so it sits upright when you open the draw, and shuts away when not in use.
