done the temp sensor - that was an utter pig to fit with big fat man hands!

I wondered about glows, wasn't sure they could cause that much of a problem.

Would I be able to choose say the 3.0 or 2.7 turbos?

Hi Will, cheers buddy, i figured it was the sump drain plug. I've got oils filters and crankcase breathers to change so i'll do it all at the same time and the keep an eye on it afterwards. Thanks very much.

I've circled a nut underneath the car that seems to be spotting oil - what is this? New to diesel engined VAGs. ALl hoses replaced and in doing so find a miniscule crack in the intake manifold i believe which has now been replaced and its sorted all the problems. Car is running brilliantly.

safe mode is pretty much what you described earlier having no boost. i didn't try and start mine and disconnect it, mine simply wouldn't turn for more than few seconds before cutting out.
