If you want clarity, look at the likes of DLS and Focal. a nice set of comps and amp from these guys wont break the bank but if its clarity you're after you wont be dissapointed.
I know you said you didnt want a sub but even a small 10" in a sealed will give you what you are after.

i think mapping your car with anymore than about 50K on it will cause problems. your engine will have worn in to 130bhp, putting more in is asking for trouble in my opinion. its like giving an old man steroids and making him cane the gym. it will cripple the poor fucker.

got some of those the other day. they are mint. really thick, heavy duty things. ideal. and for £12.99 cant go wrong.

All depends on what you are trying to achieve, SQ or SPL, how much you wonna spend, what music tastes you listen to. If you want a good all round budget system, go for something like a couple of 12's, ported or sealed box and a set of 2 way components in the front, bit sound deadening.
