Just a quick update. I changed the inlet manifold motor solenoid aka EGR Valve Solenoid 1K0906283A and the error disappeared. Let see for how long.

Have you got any pictures for the procedure removing the turbo... suspect you had to remove the driving shaft as well to get more space...

Got under the car Checked the actuator seems ok and moves the vains with no problem at all. Tested it using my vacuum pump. Just in case did many times to assure myself the vanes will move more freely after my "treatment". I've noticed the pipe which goes to the Intercooler feel a bit loos...

Definitely common issue with B6. My resistor pack has been replaced just one year after the car has been built.
