Fitted a tuning box to my pd130 and a boost controller which makes it quite sharp. Next job is to fit a fmic, exhaust and possibly a set of uprated injectors.

Fitted the 312mm discs, hangers and pads yesterday. The braking is improved but still a bit spongy so next on the list are braded hoses and a fluid change. Following this an fmic is on the list along with the 9.7mm cam and R783 injectors.

No mention of performance clutch ? A 5 speed Sachs SRE organic can hold 320 ftlb which isn't a great deal that's why peeps often change to a 6 speed box and the same larger product is then good for an additional 50 ftlb . I've 5-paddle clutch with smf in my other Passat which has worked fine for me...

Why not try the Newmans cam?

At last I got round to sorting out the failed cam with Newmans so a new 9.9mm lift cam is now on its way which will be fitted to my black Highline.

You don't see so many pd130 passats needing a new camshaft due to lobe wear. It always seems to affect golfs and boras more but its basically the same engine??

Who fabricated the intake for you?

The gtb setup looks interesting 'top mounted'......my own is mounted on my Highline using the normal manifold with the Darkside adaptor and a bit of chassis leg fettling. I take it you will be heat wrapping the fabricated downpipe to minimise heat under the bonnet?

The ASV engine is the best VE motor to have and its much more tuneable due to its increased durability.

I'm hoping for some of the same with my black passat running a 2260, R783 injector, bv head and cam....

Yes just buy the correct bolts and use a mild steel bar. But it would be good to pick up the other subframe points to make things as rigid as possible.

Good point I didn't pick that up.....any I want something more substantial than the small factory brace if its available. Also as long as it braces the shell why would it matter?

Never thought that the s4 underbrace would fit?

Hard to tell as the car is quite stiff with coil overs, the top strut brace and the eibach arb. I suppose the best comparison is that when you get out of my car and drive a standard Passat its like driving a boat. Anyway I'm considering welding 4 plates onto the rear beam to stiffen it up as well.
