If the threads are clogged with poo use a wirebrush to clean them and Plenty of WD40 (or other penatrateing fluid ;) ) and let it soak in then try again

So if i have it on econ it switchs the aircon off? :roll: I take it the system uses the aircon when it feels it needs to? as when i press the econ button nothing happens, and i would expect that if i was to turn it off when i turn the econ off i would thus be turning it back on when i switch the eco...

Cheers Guys, I'll get onto it at the weekend. One other thing, went through my fluids today and found the PAS needs a top up, I have some Dextron II in the garage but it does specify on the resevoir that it needs 'Mineral Hydraulic Fluid' only, as that VW's way of saying Power steering fluid or does...

Hi guys, I'm new on here, I'm Adam (just imcase the username did'nt give it away) and have just been and picked up my B5 1.8 20v SE. So far i love it, very quite and easy to drive, which is handy considering its been brought as the family car :esm Few little niggles with it but ill post in the tech....
