Sounds like you may need a sump guard, or raise the car a bit.

Similar thing hapend to my 5.5, turned out to be a faulty reverse light multiswitch. Check see if the reverse lights are working mine weren't. Got a secondhand one off a mate. Acces is gained from the engkne by, a bit of a stretch but manageable.

Think it something that came from american shows.think it first kicked off at aircooled vw shows like bug jam etc.
I think it looks ok on a slammed split or 60s bug , nut a corsa or a pug of any description.

I mounted mine behind the drivers side headlight. Takes the shortest run of pipe, I did have to buy some elbows though. I thn vented the other side behind the wing as you can just slide the pipe through a gap near the headlight. I then blanked off the hole in turbo pipe with a brass blanking cap I h...

Had exactly same problem with mine, unfortunatley I had to remove the door panel from insid the car nd then had to destroy the lock mech to get th dor open. Was a ballache of a job to do but it is doable. Good luck.

Very happy no probs, but fitter told me tat all they are being supplied with now is chinese glass branded fy in drivers side bottom corner and the fit of tem is sporadic at best. Just looked on my registration document and it says its an ogz, bit of a bummer really.Car was first registered in uk 09 01 2006 but is a b5.5 shape highline.

Ahh! i see , Well i dont mind that for now.Passed its mot for this year in febuary and gonna get it mapped soon anyway, will get it mapped out at the same time,Ive heard you can do that at the same time.

Well i can tell you the one i used was oblong shaped made out of alloy and had two pipe connections on the top.Was cheap like £23 delivered , pretty good quality as well. I fitted one to mine recently(Tdi 100 pd engine) JUst to stop gunk going back into the intake system,Was a bit of a pain to fit to be honest!.Had to get new fittings for the tank and a different bore pipe work to get it all to fit correctly.Oh i also had to buy some 90" push in pipe fittings as...

I have bought a kit for my b5.5 tdi 100 but was put off using it because have been told I will get an error light on the dashboard. Other than the light will thisbbe ok for my engine.?. Will it affect the ecu settings or anything else?

Just a thought but have you checked the breather pipe off the rocker cover to the turbo inlet pipe?. This would probably cause fumes to enter the car through the vents!. Could be split or even have come off.Worth a look.

i agree these engine"s can do the miles if serviced regularly! Shame the electrics can"t. However i am quite attached to mine.

I would replace the locking mech as soon as possible, i ignored mine and it locked itself shut.Ended up being a real nightmare to get the door open

Got tank already, so gonna use it.Struggling to get the correct size pipe to fit the rocker cover.Will have to look on evil bay and see what i can get. Thanks for the reply

Am i right in thinking the breather sucks and blows? if so then surely it still needs to be filtered dosent it?
