Re: Dmf failure!

Exactly the same when you engage the clutch pedal, Car has hundred thousand miles on it and a full service history. Its only the 100 bhp engine so hasnt got masses of torque going through it!. It does appear to get better when you are driving and it comes and goes.Dont think am gonna worry about it ...

Dmf failure!

What are the symptoms of a failing dmf? I seem to have a deep knocking sound when the car is sat idling.
Apart from that everything is fine under load.(b5.5 19 tdi 100 bhp). Any one have any suggestions?

Re: Remove rear window - is it possible?

I just bought some pre cut and shaped window blinds for my b5'5 estate, they look really good i think.
You can take em off in the winter and store them away or even sell them on again if you sell your car,all for £95 delivered which was cheap i thought.

Re: Remove rear window - is it possible?

The heated rear window can be removed quite easily, however it is an encapsulated unit and the moulding around the edge is moulded onto the glass at the factory. It can be removed but needs to be done very carefully. Most windscreen companys will tell you you will need a new glass for this reason as ...

Re: Reverse lights stuck on

This one is completley different to a normal switch, its mounted on top of the box and is recessed into the gearbox and is held in with a large steel clip. access is very tight and you cant even see it.If it was a normal type switch then that would be no problem -As you say a 22mm spanner, job done, ...

Re: Over filled my engine oil is this a problem?

Too much oil in the engine can damage the cat also, Ive also seen the results of an overfilled engine (bent conrods). The engine oil had got into the inlet manifold through the breather system and then filled up the combustion chambers and damaging the engine. The result of which was a new engine re...

Re: Passat 2.0 Petrol peoples honest opinions

I dont think vw have made a bad engine really, You gotta weigh up how much car is and how much you gonna use it , versus the cost of the rfl! oh and the cost of the fuel. Either way you gonna get shafted!!
Hope this helps.
