I had an Audi A4 TDI sat for 18 months whilst i was banned. Once the ban was over I got in, started it up and off it went. Amazing engineering the Audi.

I'd hazard a guess at it being a Nissan

Sounds like water in the carb. It needs professional help in the sense of a mechanic.
