I never lose more that about 500ml, certainly its a weird one :???: My heaters used to occasionally dip cold then go hot again, although its never done it now for over 3 weeks since I replaced the expansion tank cap, I have to knock mine right back as it gets too hot as they are really good in mine ...

I'm the same, When I serviced mine I did everything bar the fuel filter, mine has developed an annoying flat spot at around 2k in 3rd gear onwards
Last documented change for my fuel filter was 60k, on 190k now
I reckon my tight bum 2nd hand maf could be heading south aswell

If they're the same engine as the passat, which i'm fairly sure they are it might be venting coolant from the bottom of the expansion tank on overpressure, which can be caused by a number of reasons Check under the tank for any signs of wetness after a drive (make sure coolant is topped up to max) o...
