2015 Passat bonnet stuck fast

Good morning all and unfortunately my first post as a new owner is for a problem. Shortly after buying my 2015 SE Business TDI tried to get the bonnet open but the middle plastic clasp broke. Got a new one from an auction site and decided to have a go after being quoted upwards of £186 + vat from VW. Managed to get it fixed and tested it with grill and other bits still off the car. It worked and i felt like a hero . Put everything back together, shut the bonnet and tried again and it looks like the hook at the very front of the cable has come off the locking mechanism . As there are absolutely no videos on how to change this anywhere, i may have also put the replaced plastic clasp on the wrong side of a panel meaning i can't get in under the wheel and pull it. However i don't think that would work anyway as i believe the hook has come out of the locking mechanism, like i said there are no videos or pictures anywhere to guide.

So my question is, does anyone know of how to get the bonnet open on a 2015 B8 model if the hook at the front of the cable going into locking mechanism in the engine bay has come off?
