To keep or not to keep....opinons please!

My Passat is due it's MOT at the month end along with the tax, I'm in 2 minds whether to keep and fix the issues or break it and buy another.... I need some opinions as I can't decide what to do

I know it needs the following to make perfect
Both front abs sensors (It has passed the mot for 3 years with this problem!)
tracking (maybe a suspension arm?)
Front wing (or painting)
drivers door lock fixing (or remote lock sorting)
pas bottle (it leaks)
exhaust manifold has a crack (fixed with putty at the mo)
and it's always had an odd running issue where the idle drops (but doesn't stall) when coming to a stop

I believe with all these fixed it's still only worth about £600 and the list needs more than that spending...or should I just go and buy another (I have seen a load of 1.8t sports around £1000 and even some v6's!)

help me decide as I keep seeing new cars to buy but I'm also thinking of mod's to the current one!
