After 12 yrs of driving petrol cars (31 in total) i have recently bought my first diesel purely on the promise of better economy to try and save a few quid each month!
So far it seems to be working as i am currently seeing an easy 55mpg on my 8 mile commute to/from work with my best so far being 59.8! car is only a cheap 1998 b5 110 se tdi but it is so far proving an excellent, comfy and practical daily hack and i'm wondering why it took me until now to join the diesel ranks!
Maybe the novelty may wear off, but at the moment i can't see me driving a petrol car again
Anybody else made the switch? and were you glad or was it a regret?
