What estate is recommended under £4000?

Hi all.

I'm a noob here, but not a total noob to passats. Used to own a b3 few years ago. I'm wanting to get another passat as I was extremely happy with my old one, but I no longer know what to get.

My budget is a tight £4000, and I am after a TDi estate. I have been very interested in the B6, but have recently read many review complaining about the clutch (flywheel), leaks, oil pump failures, dodgey door lock, ect and I have gotten the impression that it's actually a unreliable car with an expensive fault bound to pop up at any given time.

So i'm after suggestions for a different model, or even just a different car to go looking for. Many thanks in advance!
