Since joining this forum it's all doom & gloom with VW's........ calipers going, steering locks going, ECB's, EGR's, DPF's it's all doom & gloom.
My previous car was an Audi A4 1.9 TDI SE 1998 model from new & never had an ounce of trouble with it. Same clutch, same exhaust, same engine, Same calipers . Same everything and had 166,000 on the clock, apart from wear & tear items. Tyres, discs, pads. The usual stuff.
So now I've bought this Passat. It seems everything will go wrong even a bloody steering lock!!! Have you ever heard of such poo!!! So with that and the un-reliability of VW I'm thinking of getting rid after 6 months. And going back to Audi. Vorsprung durch Technik and all that.
Rant over. What car would you buy over the ever unreliable VW? And why?
