Caught by Police using phone, Advise ?

Basically a few month ago i was picked out by an officer that saw me drive by with an illumination(Phone on loudspeaker in my lap), he followed by into the petrol station and id picked my phone to my ear by then to continue.

I've now been summons to court or i can plead guilty early.

I really can't afford to take points but am i up poo street ?

Am i best just pleading guilty ? (Do they have recorders in the Traffic cars these days ?"

The officer that pulled me was on his own for reference.
