Has anyone suffered from Tendinosis?

Hi everyone, happy new year to all.
Doctor has diagnosed me with Tendinosis. It's quite painful to use my hand and no pain killers seem to work. Apparently can take months to heal. Surgery or steroids are the only two suggestions out there, if anyone has had this issue and knows what helps I would appreciate any advice?
And yes it happens with overuse and no I haven't been spending my hours in front of the Internet! Lol
