2007- what did you do to your passat?

Post by Matt »

all the new problems ive had:

heater matrix split week before christmas last year, fixed

week later heater resistor packed up, fixed with 78p thermal fuse from maplins (vw wanted £58!)

rear pads+wheel bearings wore out, fixed after much swearing at caliper carrier bolts

wishbone bushes started clonking around, replaced with polybushes + did ball joints while there

ignition switch started getting dodgy, replaced after wrestling spline adaptor off steering column

battery died+replaced

as well as fixing existing ones:

fixed broken electric window lifter

made MFA work

got new rear wiper motor

fixed electric wing mirror switch

replaced thermostat

upgraded headlight loom + new bulbs

sorted dodgy connection on brake light cluster

replaced door shut switches

put new exhaust hangers on to replace the stretched ones

freed up sunroof mechanism

and upgraded some stuff:

colour coded all body trim

new B4 passat bumpers fitted+painted

got smoked tailights+ side repeaters

whole new interior

resprayed a couple of panels

found new-old-stock VW and Passat GT badges

found all the missing interior trim- now complete!

and next weekend will be fitting koni struts and PI lowering springs along with new top mounts :)

planned for next year:

fit my new alpine component speakers and 4 channel amp

get some new tyres and get my 16" borbets refurbed and fitted!

so what u lot done this year? :D
