3.5mm socket?

I have recently acquired a B6 estate "S"....basic.

It has a DD radio/CDplayer, but does it have a 3.5mm input socket hidden away?

Very conflicting info. in the "instruction manual"

I do not need ipod connectivity just a plain MP3 player.

If there is not a socket fitted, what is my easy alternative, I have a FM transmitter, nearly useless.
