gamma stereo, what's it good points?

Hi I have noticed that my car has the 'gamma' stereo in it.

My car is not in a state to have a batter connected to it yes as it is mad way through its repair but what is this stereo all about? is it any good, or is it a bit of a novelty that will wear off?

I have looked on the net for a description of its features but i cant find anything decent.

I have no owners manual with it and i dont have a stereo code wither, am i going to need one when i re connect the battery?
