Why is nothing ever easy!!!!!!

Hi guys,
I have a 55(2006) Passat 2.0 tdi saloon, for christmas my wife bought me a new head unit an Xtron installed and works great has dvd/sat nav/bluetooth am sopleased with it I also got a number plate reverse camera so i decided i would fit the camera can't be that hard can it just feed the wires in through the boot how wrong i was
My Question is do i have to remove the bumper to access the cable hole where the number plate wires go into the boot or is there an easier way?
