Newbie help.......bulb change.....struggling

Hi
I have a 2017 Passat and just bought a couple of Osram laser night breaker H7 bulbs. I thought the current bulbs were awful and give poor visibility,so hope these are better. Dipped beam .
The problem is I cannot change them!
I’ve taken the hatch off under the wheel arch,pulled the wiring plug off,but just cannot get the old bulb unit out!
I’ve tried everything but cannot move it.......
There must be an easy way to do this......can somebody help or advise.....any photos or video?
Also do I need to change the main beam bulbs as well?
