B2 variant fuel tank sender

Hi guys, new member from across the pond.

I am in dire need of a tank sender for my '86 Syncro wagon. The banjo bolt was so badly rusted to the fitting the entire sender broke apart while trying to remove it.

This part is NLA from VW... Have any of you figured out a solution to this problem, short of buying a used part? A new part from a different car modified to work?
