my p reg 2ltr petrol Passat estate died on me yesterday, I put a plug in the king lead from the ignition coil, nothing, then checked the 3 pin plug to the ignition coil, 12volts present and cranking the engine with a modern multimeter across ground and trigger I could see the multimeter dancing so it was getting a trigger.
I replaced the coil about 4 months ago with a pattern part.
so a trip to the breakers yard to get a genuine coil off another vw is in order.
what other cars use this coil? I think a 2ltr golf does, are there any others?
