Gremlins in the headlight switch!

Just occasionally lately when I turn my headlights on to go home at night, if I flash my main beam to let someone out of a junction or whatever, my headlights go onto dipped beam and I have to turn them off and then on again and they're fine

Also never noticed before that the little bulb picture on the switch also now illuminates when I put my keys in the ignition but I swear it never used to do it ......

Any ideas?

Maybe the answer is to stop letting people out of junctions?
