B3 Sunroof prooblems

Hello everyone.
Does anyone know much about the Sun roof on the B3?
Mine was in the tilt position today, I went to close it and only one side went down.
I noticed that on the side that remained up, a metal sliding mechanism was not working as the other side was.
I have managed to get the sunroof shut correctly thankfully with some fettling and moving the metal slide manually with a small tool.
Are these sliders operated by a cable? Has anyone else had a similar problem? If so its it an easy fix?
I don't mind having a go myself but don't want to attempt it if it's not worth it.
Any help would be appreciated
