Knackered Rear Shock Absorbers

Post by VWKD »

Seems my car is showing it's age and it's 185k on the clock and things are starting to go wrong the latest of which is the rear shocks... I noticed this after going over a speed bump and finding the rear end still bouncing up and down 20 yards later !! weird feeling.

Anyway the car is a bit of a workhorse and not sure how much life is left in it so just want a cheap and cheerful fix... So I have 2 questions

What is involved in changing them ?
Where can I get a cheap pair of shox ? Phoned Euro CP and they want £26.95+vat each will I do better than that.

Also the car has been dropped approx 40mm by the PO does this affect what shocks I need to buy?

thanks in advance.
