Boost Whistle

Post by SLonsdale »

Ever since I have owned the car, about three months, it has had a boost whistle.
The first suspect was the turbo to intercooler pipe. This was split and duly replaced thanks to rodnay on here.

I thought that would cure it but no. It still whistles and makes people turn there heads. They must think a mortar is coming down

I thoroughly cleaned the engine bay paying particular attention to the boost hoses and refitted each hose making sure it is sealed correctly. I removed the intercooler, cleaned it and checked it for leaks. The same with the egr and the inlet manifold.

Been looking round it today and I can not see any oil misting around the joints, the egr or the intercooler.

The car pulls well. No smoke from the exhaust at all. It is showing good economy figures.

Where else could it possibly be coming from? Where do I look next? :-??
