Mpps cable

Good evening everyone

I am just after a bit of advice , I've read a few different topics using the search engine on mpps cakes and "black smoke" remaps, I've been looking on eBay for a cable and there are a good few different types and prices , I've emailed two of the cheaper ones (£12) but to be told by both that Volkswagen are not covered even know Audi are ? Am I missing something ? There is one currently on eBay for £29 and it says it's for Volkswagen but it looks the sane as the £12 mpps cable ? Even more confusing I emailed a lad on a local forum who already did the black smoke map and he used one of the cheap cables that the sellers told me don't work lol

I'm a bit confused and don't want to buy the wrong thing it get stoked , also what's the difference in the v12 and v13 cables ?
