Window motor...or broken glass???

Ok so long story, relatively shortish...

Someone bricked my window. Got fixed on insurance, but guy couldn't get all of broken glass out of door.

6 months on and window got stuck half way up, with a horrible grinding noise. I presumed broken glass stuck in motor, but certainly as direct result of brick, whatever the issue is.

Anyway, insurance sent some idiot out who didn't even take door card out and claims it's just wear and tear on motor, and nothing they can do.

Some other guy having proper look Sat morn...

So, is it likely to be wear and tear? Simple enough to fix myself cheaply enough if that's case?

It's drivers side so they say it's coz that's most used one! Smells fishy to me tho...
