Under tray advice

Hi Folks

So, had to take my under tray off tonight as it fell apart and was held on with one bolt....took it off to find its pretty cream crackered. Whats everyones advice on re-placing it or leaving it off? I had a Golf mK4 a few years back and the same thing happened so i removed it, however the passat is a different beast....anyone else have theres off??
