Still clunking on N/S front.

Post by The Monk »

Hi, smee again. ~x(

Pull off *CLUNK*

Slow down *CLUNK*

Anything that involves changing the pitch of the car suddenly or slightly, especially in 1st gear, results in the clunk. This also occurs with lateral movement too. Car parks are the place it happens the most.

So, I've had

1) N/S outer CV joint replaced.
2) Complete set of new suspension arms (3rd set in 2 years).
3) New drop links.
4) Track rods
5) Checked the steering rack is secure.
6) Checked for movement on the steering struts.
7) Had next to no movement from the engine and the mounts are secure with no perished rubber.
8) ARB bushes changed.

That is the work I've done in the past month on the 5.5. This has not cured it, at all.

I've hired most of the UK population as a collective to hang off the suspension arms to check arm bushes, dry hump the engine in all directions and I still can't recreate the clunk, unless the car is moving.

It is a low pitch clunk, a hollow clunk, a joke of a clunk and I still can not rectify it. :((

Any further input would be greatly received chaps :)
