brake bleeding problems

Post by neilspassat »

I replaced the rear caliper seals on drivers side today and changed the pads at the same time. The caliper that had the seals lost all its fluid and whilst i tried to stop the fluid being lost from the brake flexi i still lost lots. the caliper that had the seals replaced seems to be closing on the disc ok but the other side that was i bit stiff to wind in dont seem to want to come out when pumping the pedal. I have spend ages bleeding the complete system with a vacuum type bleeder but i seem to have no pedal at all. I have even tried beeding both rear calipers whist turning them at different angles in case there was air trapped. I remember my friend having the same problem when he changed his caliper. hes happy to drive his car as is.
Has anyone had this or can suggest anything.
Thanks
