HID Query

So i bought a set of HID's off ebay

They arrived and I realised that I didn't get the ones with the metal clip (issue of having 10 different windows open and flinging between them).

Anyways can I adapt them or do anything to make them fit? Was hoping not to have the hassle of returning them.

Also I did test them and they didnt light up. The rain came on so I've left it> Do they only power when the engine is running like I seen some cars do?
