B5.5 double din dash

I'm just looking at buying a B5.5 130 TDI and am a total noob to the world of passats... I've noticed some have a radio/cassette, aircon & cubby hole in the dash while others have rado/cassette, CD and aircon.

Question is if I buy one with the former set up is it easy to change it to the latter?

and are B5 & B5.5 estate tail lights interchangeable?
