Just bought today from a friend (for my son) a 1.8T 2001 'Y' reg with 55k, mostly main dealer service and the clutch has become inoperative tonight with no gears other than first and reverse a little. Until I get the car relayed to a garage here in Northampton I am assuming that the clutch has gone. Does this model have a dual mass fly wheel and could the probelem be something other than the clutch? If it is the clutch what would be an approx price including a dual mass flywheel if it has one? My first Passat and not sure if this is called the B5.5 if someone could confirm that is correct. Anyone with a good experience of a recommended garage her in Northampton?
