Passat 2.0 Petrol peoples honest opinions

Right folks. My Dad has owned a few passats and so have a few other family members but they have all been PD engined ones.

I might be getting another Passat to add to fleet :hyst pending test drive etc Just wanted peoples honest opinion on the 2.0 petrol engine. What MPG do you get in the real world. Whats the power like. Is it a nice quite refined engine?

I've seen the tax is £270 a year which is a bit steep :-o
