Chime gong and buzzer....

Right, i was playing with vag-com and during the instrument cluster output test, there is one called a gong ... goes gong, gong, gong, gong (hence the name i suppose ) And there is also the one that boes BEEEEP like when the petrol light comes on.

What is the gong for? My car has never made that noise for any reason, its diffrent to the headlight on warning too, is it for seatbelts or door open or something? If so why doesnt mine work? (B5 1.8t estate btw)
