cant get front strut out now hating car at mo

hi peeps want change front shocks and springs on my 98 b5 but cant get old one as how much i try used the method which means u dont have touch the dreaded pinch bolt but cant get old one out bein at it 5 hours now so give up due to it bein dark tryed slacken off lower arm but still cant get fork bit pass thats after i shortened my spring comprssers as they were 2 long stuck 4 ideas now any pointers would be great thanx jase
