Auto lock central locking

I have had on going problems with the central locking on my 1998 B5, only the RHS doors lock from the inside, I have to push the door card button 2 or 3 times before all the doors lock, I have learned to live with that. The other problem I have, is when the doors are all open, the car locks itself automatically after less than a minute, while this is a nice feature if you forget to lock the doors, it is worrying if I should leave the keys in the car. This happens even if someone is in the car, it only seems to happen when I unlock the car using the fob. I am sure I read/heard somewhere that the time it takes to do the auto lock thing, can be adjusted through either the Climatronic unit, or by using VCDS, or have I gone completely mad?
