Fuel resistor trick

Post by johnDUB »

In PVW,
VWRacing mention a 180 ohm resistor you pop onto what I guess is the temp sender line for the diesel fuel. Apparently it fools the ecu into thinking the fuel is warmer than what it is, and pumps more. They also reckon this mod as a 20BHP increase!

VWRacing mentioned it with respect to their Mk5 Gt-TDI.

So.. the question is... Is this applicable to the 1.9 TDI, and V6 TDI?

Because at no more than a diver from an electronics shop, this is by far the cheapest BHP increase ever!
