what have halfords done? door related

First thing, can I apologise as my first proper post is asking advice.

I got some front speakers from Halfords and took them up on the cheap fitting while I took gf out for some nice lunch and a wander around some shops.

All was well until I got home and opened the drivers door, the interior handle stays in the open position and once closed can not be open from the outside (you have to push the interior handle once the door is closed). Think this makes sense how I have described it.

What have they done, have they missed out a spring of some sort while fitting all back or have they just broken it!?
